Security and health plan at work
During the last 10 years, the Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz, SA, has managed health and safety at work (SST) under the modality of Management System based on the OHSAS 18001, in an integrated manner with the ISO 14001 and 9001.
In this period, programs focused on the functional - organizational approach have been developed, that is, according to the way in which the organization creates structures for the management of OSH and the results have been good, however it is necessary to change the strategy as part of the evolution of the company and the management itself.
A new approach is proposed, focused on the conceptual and strategic priorities of OSH in the company, providing elements that define an integral management of OSH, which forms part of the strategy of the organization and which allows to measure, first, its management, and in second instance, its performance, based on an Occupational Health and Safety Plan composed of three components:
- Development of SST Standards.
- Preventive Management and Security.
- Health benefits and services.
Each of these components is broken down into "projects" or "initiatives", which are defined by Priorities and are measured by Indicators.
The SST Plan would allow the organization to comply with an adequate management of occupational risk prevention, with an approach based on the ISO 45001 standard and with an expectation of significant improvement.
